A marketplace, not a shop

In a shop, one business sells its own products. In a marketplace, many sellers each offer their listings, and buyers order from the seller of their choice. You run the place: you choose who can sell, what can be sold and how, the look of the site, and the commission you take on each sale.

Kreezalid is the software that runs your marketplace: it hosts it, keeps it up to date and processes its orders. You do not install anything.

The storefront

The storefront is the site your visitors see: its home page, the listings, search, the sign-up form, the cart or the booking calendar. It is the site at your marketplace’s URL, https://your-marketplace.mykreezalid.com, or your own domain once connected.

Its look comes from its theme, chosen in Theme: two marketplaces with different themes look nothing alike. That is why this help center shows no screenshots of the storefront.

The admin panel

The admin panel is where you run the marketplace. It is at the same URL followed by /admin, and only administrators can open it.

On the left, the menu groups the screens into five sections:

  • Overview: Home, your starting point, and the figures of your marketplace.
  • Sales: the orders, and the reviews and coupons when their apps are on.
  • Catalog & customers: the listings and the users, sellers and buyers.
  • Content: the pages, menus, theme and blog of the storefront.
  • Configuration: the apps (Plugins), every setting of the marketplace (Settings), and the connections with other tools.

At the top of the menu, a link opens the storefront in a new tab. At the bottom, Help leads to the help center and to support. In the top bar, the search (Ctrl+K, or ⌘K on a Mac) finds a screen or a setting by its name.

The seller space

The seller space is where sellers follow their activity: a dashboard, their listings, their sales and orders, their messages and their account. It is at your marketplace’s URL followed by /workspace, and looks the same whatever your theme: only your logo and accent colour change.

A user enters it in full when their user group can publish listings. A user whose group cannot publish, but who has already sold, sees their sales and account only.

Two kinds of accounts

  • Administrator accounts open the admin panel. They are created in Settings › Account & team.
  • User accounts, sellers and buyers, open the storefront and the seller space. Users create them by signing up on the storefront; you find them all in Users.

The two are separate: an administrator’s e-mail address and password do not open the storefront, and a user’s do not open the admin panel. To see your marketplace as a given user sees it, open their account in Users and click Log with this account: the storefront opens in a new tab, signed in as them.

What your users see

Your users only ever see the storefront and, for sellers, the seller space. The admin panel, its screens and its settings are invisible to them; what you change there shows on the storefront when it concerns them.

Edge cases and limits

  • A connected custom domain: the storefront, the admin panel and the seller space all move to it, and the mykreezalid.com URL redirects there.
  • Older seller pages: on some marketplaces, sellers still manage their listings and sales from pages of the theme rather than from the seller space.
  • Items that appear with an app: some menu items, such as Reviews or Coupons, only show when their app is on.
