Starting a marketplace means making choices before you know everything. Here is what you can come back on, so that you can decide quickly where it does not matter.
What you can change at any time
| Choice | Where | What happens to what exists |
|---|---|---|
| The marketplace’s name | Settings › General, Site name | Shown everywhere at once: storefront, e-mails, admin panel |
| The currency | Settings › General, Currency | Listings keep their former currency until they are edited; prices are not converted |
| The default language | Settings › General, Default language | The storefront’s interface changes language; your content stays as written |
| The theme | Theme › Theme library | Your listings, pages and settings stay; the look changes |
| The transaction type of an order type | Settings › Order types | Orders already placed keep theirs; listings follow the new one |
| The commission | Settings › Fees | Applies to the next orders |
| Your domain | Settings › Custom domain | Add, replace or remove your own domain at any time |
What stays fixed
- Your marketplace’s
mykreezalid.comURL. It is chosen at sign-up, from the marketplace’s name, and no screen changes it. On Settings › Custom domain it is shown as the “Kreezalid domain”, “Provided automatically, never expires.” To be reached under another name, connect your own domain: your visitors are then sent to it. - The type of a listing attribute. Once the attribute is created, its Type (short text, number, drop-down list…) can no longer be changed, in Settings › Catalog › Listing attributes.
What cannot be undone
The admin panel asks for confirmation before each of these, with a message saying that the action cannot be reversed:
- Deleting a category also deletes its subcategories. Move their listings to another category first.
- Deleting an order type is refused while listings are attached to it, or while it is the only order type of some categories.
- Deleting listings, one by one or several at a time, a page, a blog post or a file.
- Paying out an order to the seller.
- Removing the sample data of the guided setup.
What your users see
Changes to the name, the theme, the language or the currency appear on the storefront at once, for everyone. A deleted category, listing or page disappears from the storefront, and its URL then leads to an error page.
Edge cases and limits
- Your primary domain cannot be deleted while it is primary: set another domain as primary first.
- Changing the theme during the free trial: a theme from the library can be tried for free, and is only kept after the trial if it is bought.
- Changing the transaction type does not reset the settings of the former one: they are kept, folded away, and apply again if you come back to it.
