Create a rule
-
In the menu, under , click , then Fees, in the Sales & catalog group. Then click Add a commission fee.
-
Give the rule a Name. It identifies the rule in the list and in order details.
-
Under Condition for applying the rule, choose whether the commission applies when all the following criteria are met or when at least one of the following criteria is met.
-
Click Add a criteria as many times as needed. Six criteria are available:
- Price: the order amount, subtotal and options, shipping excluded. Less than, between, more than.
- Category: the category of the ordered listings. Is.
- Order type: the order type of the order. Is, is not.
- Buyer group: the buyer’s user group. Is, is not.
- Seller group: the seller’s user group. Is, is not.
- Seller country: the country of the seller’s address. Is, is not.
-
Under Commission type and amount, choose a fixed amount or a percentage, enter the value, then choose who it applies to: seller or buyer.
-
For a fixed amount, choose whether it applies once per order or on each item, in which case it is multiplied by the quantity ordered. If the rule targets a category, only the quantity of listings in that category counts.
-
Set the Sort priority: the lowest number comes first, and negative numbers are accepted.
-
Tick Stop processing rulesets after this one if this rule should be the last one applied when it matches.
-
Tick Enable this ruleset ?, then Save this rule.
In the list, each rule can be edited, duplicated or deleted. Duplicating a similar rule is the fastest way to create a variant.
How rules combine
For each order, Kreezalid goes through the active rules in order of sort priority. Every rule that matches adds its commission to the ones already retained. Processing stops as soon as a matching rule has Stop processing rulesets after this one ticked.
- 1Furniture — Category is “Furniture” stop processing12% seller
- 2Standard commission — Price more than 08% seller
- 3Service fee — Price more than 0€1.50 buyer
- A €200 chair, filed under “Furniture”: rule 1 matches, €24 is deducted from the seller, and processing stops. The buyer pays no service fee.
- A €50 book, €5 shipping: rule 1 does not match. Rule 2 takes 8% of €50, that is €4 (shipping is not part of the calculation), and rule 3 adds €1.50 to the price the buyer pays.
What your users see
For the book in the example:
The buyer
Cart and checkout
The seller
Order details, in their account
- The buyer sees the commission applied to them as a service fee line, in the cart and at checkout. They never see the commission deducted from the seller.
- The seller sees, in their order details, the commission deducted from them and their net amount. Shipping goes to them.
- These labels can be changed in your theme’s translations.
Edge cases and limits
- No rule matches: the commission set on the order type applies (Settings › Order types, Platform fees field). It is always deducted from the seller. As soon as a single rule matches, the order type’s commission is ignored.
- The Price criterion compares the amount of one seller’s order, not the whole cart: a cart with two sellers makes two orders, evaluated separately.
- The Category criterion only takes the “is” operator into account, and does not cover subcategories.
- A disabled rule is ignored but kept: it is the way to pause a rule without losing it.
